Welcome to Spring Semester 2013
Dear Fernando Noveno,
The Practice Final is now live, and available here. There is no deadline, and it doesn’t count towards your grade, but we strongly encourage you to complete it before you start working on the Final Exam, which will be released by Monday night. The goal of the Practice Final is to allow you to check your understanding of course concepts, as well as to enable you to get used to the exam format.
FINAL EXAM: While generally the exam format is quite similar to the homework format, there are some critical differences:
1. Number of Attempts: You will not have an unlimited number of attempts for each question. Each question shows how many attempts are left. Some questions will have a maximum of two attempts, while others will have a maximum of one attempt.
2. Final Exam Window: For the Final Exam, you will get to choose a 48 hour window within the 11/12 - 11/18 period. Your 48 hour window starts when you open the Final Exam for the first time. We estimate it will take 2-5 hours to complete the Final Exam.
3. Final Exam Discussion: No discussion of the Final Exam will be allowed through any means. If a potentially critical issue comes up about the Final Exam, you will be able to reach us through an email address that will be announced with the release of the Final Exam.
Happy practicing,
Dan, Pieter, and the CS188x Course Team
